Cheese Boards for cheese Day

June 4 is National Cheese Day!

To many, it's an excuse to indulge in an ooey-gooey cheesy recipe, or maybe add protein-packed cheese to their afternoon snack plate. With thousands of varieties to try, what better way to experiment than by creating your own unique cheese board featuring a variety of cheeses including some from Arizona Farms Cheese? We have three basic tips for board creation, which makes your job simple - swap out cheeses each time you make a board so you can sample different kinds and find your favorite!

  1. Find the perfect board. You can't create the spread without the foundation. With so many options to choose from, try getting a mid-sized wood board to start with.

  2. Mix and match, with cheese that is! You want to include a variety of textures to sample. Try to include one type from the following categories:

    • Soft: burrata, mozzarella, brie, Humboldt fog

    • Semi-soft: stilton, Roquefort, gorgonzola, fontina

    • Semi-hard:manchego, swiss,provolone, come

    • Hard: cheddar, parmesan, pecorino, Asiago

  3. Best friends, to cheese of course! Adding the right accompaniments brings flavor and color to your board for a tasty and visually appealing presentation.

    • Bread/crackers: baguette, ciabatta, multigrain crackers

    • Fresh fruits: raspberries, pear, olives

    • Dried fruits: apricots, figs

    • Nuts: almonds, cashews

    • Spreads: apricot, chutney, honey

    • Garnish: rosemary

There you have it! Feeling inspired and ready to celebrate National Cheese Day with a cheese board? Take a picture and send it to Communications@udaz.org. It could end up on our blog or social media pages!
